Our Phase System

Our Phase System

Our phase system is uniquely designed to help residents meet goals for both personal growth and independent living skills within addiction recovery. Lotus Recovery incorporates a four-part phase system; wherein certain expectations are identified and goals set. Completion or progress towards these goals enables residents to move onto the next phase where there will be new privileges and goals. Studies have shown that phase systems with increasing limits and responsibilities help recovering addicts adapt to a sober living environment and gain autonomy. As residents develop stability, their chances of staying sober and implementing healthy lifestyle choices increase.

A few of our expectations and goals of our four phases is outlined below.

Phase One

Upon entering Lotus Recovery, residents will be placed in Phase One. This is non-negotiable; regardless of length of sobriety, previous level of care prior to becoming a resident, or even if they have formerly been residents at Lotus Recovery. Minimum stay in Phase One is 30 days. Additionally, no parent or family contact is allowed for the first two weeks.

  • Must attend five 12-step meetings per week
  • Must complete in-house programming
  • Curfew is 9 PM, Sunday-Thursday & 10 PM Friday-Saturday

Phase Two

Phase Two residents must complete a minimum of 30 days in Phase One, complete steps 1-5 with a sponsor,  and submit a phase up request to Lotus Recovery staff. Minimum stay in Phase Two is 45 days.

  • Curfew is 10:30 PM, Sunday-Thursday & 11:30 PM Friday-Saturday
  • One overnight pass is allowed with staff approval
  • Residents may keep their phones overnight
  • Residents may use their vehicles with staff approval

Phase Three

Phase Three residents must complete a minimum 45 days in Phase Two, complete all 12 steps with a sponsor and have a home group for meetings. Additionally, residents must be able to prove funds in their savings.

  • Curfew is 11:30 PM, Sunday-Thursday & 12:00AM Friday-Saturday
  • One overnight pass is allowed every two weeks with staff approval
  • Contribute 30% of earned income to rent

Phase Four

Phase Four residents are required to continue working their steps with a focus on steps 10-12, have a full-time job, demonstrate behaviors in line with spiritual principles, and be a leader in the community and house. Residents are allowed to leave the house as they please as long as they have staff approval and are home by 2 AM.

  • Curfew is 11:30 PM, Sunday-Thursday & 12:00AM Friday-Saturday

What We Offer

Totally Personalized Care

Recovery Residence

Lotus Recovery is a beautiful, well-appointed home in the West Campus area of Austin. We are walking distance to parks, outdoor activities, supermarkets, and other conveniences.

Our Program

We provide our residents with the life skills and relapse prevention skills they need to live a sober and independent lifestyle. We assist with job placement and other case management services that are critical to helping our residents gradually transition back into an independent life.

Sober Coaching & Case Management

Unique to other recovery residences, we offer in-house sober coaching and case management resources. We started Lotus with the goal to provide a more comprehensive set of services than the standard typically delivered by other sober living and recovery residences.

A Well Rounded Program For Success

Lotus' focus on case management means simply that we help clients get services they need to accelerate their recovery and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

We understand the importance of family, social networks, and community on our resident's healing.

Our case managers advocate for all kinds of assistance, including helping residents work treatment plan goals and find a sponsor and support group meetings that fit the client’s needs.

We work on resume creation and assist residents with job applications and interview preparation, serving as a point of contact for the residents loved ones by helping residents cultivate the life skills necessary for a seamless transition back into society.

We make sure to align services and resources that fit our resident's needs, rather than trying to make our residents fit the services. In comparison to individual therapy, our team focuses on resource acquisition and helping address the unique needs of our residents who are in early recovery or healing from trauma.

On top of Lotus' case management focus, we also offer sober coaching and help our residents develop coping mechanisms. Our team works to address challenges and help residents stay on track with their sobriety and healing.
